Miley Ray Cyrus was born Destiny Hope Cyrus on November 23rd, 1992 in Franklin, Tennessee and raised in Thompson's Station, Tennessee to Tish Cyrus & Billy Ray Cyrus. Miley has five brothers and sisters - two older siblings and a younger sibling. She was named Miley by her family because she was a great opportunity for the children. Her childhood nickname, Smiley, due to her cheerful disposition and cheerful personality, eventually became Miley. Her paternal great-grandfather was Democratic politician Ron Cyrus. Cyrus was initially educated by Heritage Elementary School in Tennessee. The family she was born in moved from Tennessee to Toronto Canada when she was eighteen years old. Billy Ray Cyrus took on an appearance in Doc (2001) in which she was the main character on the TV show. Cyrus started to think about acting in this time. Her father was the lead on the screen in Doc (2001). Additionally, she had an appearance in Tim Burton's Big Fish (2003). The year 2005 saw Cyrus was cast as the main character in Hannah Montana, a Disney Hannah Montana series. Hannah Montana (2006), which follows a teenager who lives an alternate life of pop-star. Her father was once again alongside her. The show went on to be a huge hit. Hit records, tours that were sold out and merchandise agreements came later. Cyrus rapidly became a cult figure among young people. Following the success of Hannah Montana (2006), Cyrus began to move to other roles, including the role of Ronnie Miller in The Last Song (2010) and Lola in LOL (2012) with Demi Moore.
